NOTE: Applicants who have not graduated with a bachelor's degree in history from a program that includes an historical methods and/or senior seminar course(s) will be required to demonstrate critical reading, interpretive and writing skills by submitting a two to three (2-3) page typed essay over a topic provided by the history graduate adviser Deadlines: * This essay will also be treated as a formal writing sample.On February 26, 2020, LAUNCH: Undergraduate Research will hold its third annual Undergraduate Research Scholars Symposium in the Memorial Student Center on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.Additionally, faculty advisors will have to individually approve each team member's application.

Write and present an undergraduate thesis under faculty guidance as a team or an individual.
Eligible students are invited to apply for the Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) program each year between June and September.
This Symposium will showcase undergraduate researchers in the LAUNCH Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) thesis program.
The URS thesis program provides undergraduates with a graduate student experience by allowing them to participate in research, produce a professional document, and communicate their findings as principal authors to the University's scholarly community.Undergraduate students in LAUNCH: Honors and LAUNCH: Learning Communities programs will visit presentations and will be assigned reflection activities to help them discover their own research interests and develop their communication skills.Volunteers for the LAUNCH URS Symposium will include the LAUNCH Undergraduate Research Ambassadors, Learning Communities’ Peer Mentors, and LAUNCH staff members.Additional information can be found on the main URS program page.Be sure to download the appropriate URS Application Part 2 Planning Template for your discipline after completing Part 1.You are required to sign in with your Net ID and Password below to access both application parts.The Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) Thesis is a professional document that reflects the culmination of your novel and unique research project.After completing both parts of the application, faculty advisors must approve the project through the STSS.LAUNCH: UGR staff will then review applications and send final acceptance notifications on a rolling basis through the first week of October.Undergraduate students from all disciplines are encouraged to attend the LAUNCH URS Symposium to learn more about how to get involved in research at Texas A&M University.Check out highlights on TAMU Today from the first URS Symposium in 2017-2018!
